Overview

Syncmatic’s Klaviyo integration allows you to automatically sync your Shopify customer segments to Klaviyo lists for targeted email marketing campaigns. This integration maintains real-time synchronization, adding new customers to Klaviyo lists when they match segment criteria and removing them when they no longer qualify.

With Syncmatic, you can leverage your existing Shopify customer segments or create custom segments using advanced criteria like RFM analysis, purchase behavior, and customer attributes to build highly targeted email lists in Klaviyo.

Prerequisites

Before installing the Klaviyo integration, ensure you have:

  • An active Shopify store with customer data
  • A Klaviyo account with email marketing capabilities
  • Syncmatic app installed in your Shopify admin

Installation Steps

Step 1: Access Klaviyo Integration

  1. Open your Shopify admin panel
  2. Navigate to Apps → Syncmatic
  3. Click on Integrations in the left sidebar
  4. Find the Klaviyo integration card
  5. Click Connect with Klaviyo

Step 2: Authorize Syncmatic in Klaviyo

  1. You’ll be redirected to Klaviyo’s authorization page
  2. Log into your Klaviyo account if prompted
  3. Review the permissions Syncmatic is requesting (list and profile access)
  4. Click Allow to authorize the connection
  5. You’ll be automatically redirected back to Syncmatic

Step 3: Configure Your First List

  1. After successful connection, you’ll see your existing Klaviyo lists
  2. Click Create New List to add a new Klaviyo list, or
  3. Select an existing list to configure
  4. Choose your segment source:
    • Shopify Segments: Use your existing Shopify customer segments
    • Custom Segments: Create segments using Syncmatic’s advanced criteria
  5. Enable Auto-updates to keep your lists synchronized daily
  6. Click Save to activate the sync

Verification

To verify your installation:

  1. Check that your Klaviyo lists appear in the Syncmatic dashboard
  2. Ensure the connection status shows as “Connected”
  3. Trigger a manual sync by clicking Push on any enabled list
  4. Monitor the progress indicator for successful completion
  5. Verify that customer profiles appear in your Klaviyo lists

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Connection Failed

  • Ensure you clicked Allow on the Klaviyo authorization page
  • Verify your internet connection and that Klaviyo services are operational
  • Try refreshing the page and reconnecting

Authorization Denied

  • If you clicked Deny on the Klaviyo authorization page, simply try connecting again
  • Ensure you’re logged into the correct Klaviyo account

Lists Not Syncing

  • Confirm you’re manually triggering syncs (no automatic scheduling)
  • Check that your segments have customers with valid email addresses
  • Ensure email addresses in segments pass RFC 5322 validation
